A new Chinese regional airline in the eastern coastal Jiangsu region has ordered 30 Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
The carrier, Sutong Airlines’ parent company Nantong Tongzhou Bay Aviation Industry Co., Ltd signed a letter of intent with the manufacturer.
It is aiming to start operations in 2015.
Based on current list prices the deal is in the region of $995 million.
“With its regional aviation model set to revolutionise air service in Jiangsu, one of China’s most affluent and fast-growing provinces, Sutong Airlines will not only make traveling increasingly convenient for the people of Jiangsu, but will also bring tremendous economic benefits to the economies and communities of the province,” said Zhou Binzhen, president, Nantong Tongzhou Bay Aviation Industry Co.
